Sasha Allen was the only openly transgender performer to have reached this year's Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That has been the case over the course of 21 seasons. The Newtown duo of Jim and Sasha Allan, are now in the top 8 throughout the 21 years of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha disclosed that he was transgender while preparing for Blind Auditions. Blind Auditions, and he told Parade.com that the choice was a matter of thought and reflection. "That was an extremely difficult decision because it's exposing a exposed part of you in front of millions and millions folks," said Sasha, who transitioned while he was at high school. The week before, during Fan Week, watching the love and support of fans, their reactions, and how it affected them was worth it. The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song.
