Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Anne W. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains simple techniques that any person can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love of cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I just couldn't get enough out of the experience. After graduation, chef Burrell was able to spend a full period of time in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell is on the road to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne, throughout her entire culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to be able to share this love of life with others.
