Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta however, she comes in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing the piano in the church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music within the city's R&B scene. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
